My name is Kelly Bechard Doyle and I am currently enrolled in your eder course on technology and language. I am originally from Sherwood Park, Alberta but moved to Calgary in 1999 for a teaching job. I have been a junior high teacher with Calgary Catholic for the passed 11 years where I teach at a very multiculural school in Marlbourough. I teach around a 130 students Language Arts each year, and despite all the marking, I enjoy every moment of it. My school is highly ESL so I believe that this course will help me not only learn a great deal of technology skills but also give me practical ideas that I can encorporate into my classes. I find that the longer I teach teenagers, the less I know about technology. I have the desire to use methods to teach my students that can help them in today's digital society. Children are constantly evolving with their technology use and I believe that as a teacher, I need to evolve right along with them. I am hoping that this class gives me the tools to confidently use technology and digital content in my daily lessons.
